The Bride and Groom To Be

This is *Ubermidget's prize for winning second place in my recent contest! She requested Link and Zelda dancing at their engagement party as it occurs in the Fortitude universe. =^___^=

(Fortitude is my Zelda fanfic, for anyone who stumbles across this and has no idea what I'm talking about.)

I think it's funny that three of my four finished images related to my fanfic do not actually occur in the story. This scene is only briefly mentioned in a reminiscent way, the cover is a more metaphorical/symbolic-ish image, and the other is a dream/memory. And the only actual scene was just a painting experiment xD... I also think it's funny that the last image I posted was the proposal. How appropriate that the engagement party would be next!

And yes, Link's hair is combed back. =^^= It was a futile attempt of the castle staff to make him look more princely, and sadly it was only half successful. I've never drawn him like that before, but I like it, personally. Of course, this would only happen on rare occasions, as Link isn't too fond of it.

If you're wondering why they're completely alone in a room that should be filled with other dancers, there's a reason for that. Ubermidget kindly specified that Link and Zelda be alone, and so I tried using a fading effect with the floor to make it look like they're in their own little world. You know how couples are, when "everything else just seems to fade away..." That's the sensation I tried to portray.

So yeah, I had fun with this one, though it took me a while to design a decent gown and such for Zelda... and to get the colors to not clash... I hope I was successful enough, and I hope you like it, Ubermidget!!
